New Iberia, Lafayette, Louisiana photographer » New Iberia and Lafayette Louisiana photographer specializing in maternity, newborn, children, family and graduate photography serving the Acadiana area.

Where are you located?
b more creative photography is located in New Iberia, Louisiana we service the Acadiana area.  Outdoor sessions Monday through Saturday 8am-6pm.

What does the session fee include?
The session fee reserves the time for your photo session and covers all costs involved in creating your images including editing and post-production work.  The session fee covers the time and talent of the photographer as well as props, backdrops, equipment and other costs that make your session creative and custom.  Because I am a small business owner and want to ensure the highest quality and attention to each of my clients, I can only take a certain number of sessions each month.  Locking in your session date (or your expected due date) with a paid Session Fee allows me to best plan my calendar each month.

When and how do I pay?
b more creative photography is proud to offer multiple payment options.  You are welcome to send a check to my home studio or pay online via PayPal.  We also accept credit cards both in person and over the phone.  The first payment you make is the Creative Fee, which is due to reserve your session.  You pay nothing more until you see your portraits and choose a Collection!

When should I book my session and how long will they last?

Family & Children: As soon as possible. Typically Beth books at least 3 weeks in advance. Most sessions last 1-2 hours, depending on the number of children and/or children’s moods. We can take breaks for changing diapers, or a little playtime. If we are shooting on location, sometimes it is best if we just sit and talk while the child gets used to my presence. Please only bring children who will be photographed.

Maternity: Everyone is different but right around 34-36 weeks is the best time to schedule your session. Earlier than that and the belly may not be prominent enough, later than that and you may feel uncomfortable. But every woman and every pregnancy is different, so listening to your body is always a good idea. Sessions can be held in the studio, your home or on location we can discuss this in your consultation appointment. Once you’ve booked your session I will send you information to help you prepare for your session.

Newborn: Newborns are best photographed between 3 to 10 days. The first week of life is certainly not too soon for portraits and is preferred.  Babies older than 2 weeks may still be photographed but will be more alert and may not curl up as easily. Please call before you baby arrives to for a tentative date based on your due date. A final date and time will be confirmed once your little one arrives. Newborn sessions typically last about 3 hours, but be prepared some newborns need a little extra time and sessions have lasted up to 4 hours. Newborn sessions are relaxed and plenty of time is available for feeding and diaper changes.

What time of day will my session be held?
Outdoor locations sessions are best held in the evening, two hours before sunset.  This is often called ‘the golden hour’ by photographers and it is when the sun casts a warm, beautiful glow on your skin.  Middle of the day is the worst time for portraits, as it is too bright, casts harsh shadows on faces, and creates squinty eyes.

Newborn sessions At this time newborn sessions can be held in your home or an outdoor location. Please schedule within the first 10 days if at all possible.

I scheduled an outdoor session and if the weather is bad what do we do?
I’m always watching the weather, and keeping session times open for possible reschedules due to rain. I will contact you and we will reschedule your session.

Do you provide the props/accessories?
YES! Most of the cute props, headbands, outfits and hats you see in my portfolio are available at the studio for you to use during your session. I am always adding to my collection so there is never a shortage of cute new things to choose from.

What Should I do to prepare for my session?
We will email a list of tips and final details once you book your session.

What if my child gets sick?
Please reschedule if your child isn’t feeling like him/herself. Sick kids and photo sessions just don’t mix. We want to make sure we capture your child’s REAL personality.

How do I see my images?
Approximately 2-3 weeks after your session, you will receive an email with a link to an online, password protected gallery. You’ll have FOUR days to place and pay for your order. You will be asked what four consecutive days you wish to have your gallery live for ordering. These four consecutive days must take place within 2 weeks once your gallery is ready. Your order must be paid for in this time.

Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes! Gifting a friend or family member with a session is a wonderfully thoughtful idea. You can purchase a gift certificate for someone who has already booked with me in any denomination or you can purchase the Creative Fee for them so that they can have beautiful portraits taken of their special time!

Can I register with you for an upcoming baby shower?
Anyone who has booked a newborn session with b more creative photography can sign up for a baby registry!  I will provide you with cards to include in your baby shower invitations which give instructions on how your guests can purchase certificates toward your portrait order.  Just ask for details!
